Music

Music has been part of my life ever since I was a little kid, and more recently being able to perform with musical friends is a great blessing.

My Mom and Dad moved us from Toronto to Edmonton in 1960 where Dad had taken a job with the new CTV-affiliated television station CFRN. I developed an early love for the lights, camera and action of a production TV studio and spent many hours watching and appreciating the patient answers of the crew about what various pieces of equipment did.

In 2020 when Covid-19 changed the world of in-person gatherings I had the opportunity to build a small production capability for Or Shalom synagogue in Vancouver, and used it to bring Jewish New Year High Holiday services to a wide membership.

This also gave me the chance to try to reproduce some of the great aspects of live tv into live streaming. Here’s an example of one of our best live streams, with Harriet Frost and the Universal Band.
